What can your embodied experience change?

Before my suppressed & repressed trauma could surface, my brain needed to get out of black and white/all or nothing thinking.

Life coaching gave me this first step.

Mindset worked helped me learn how to reframe, change narratives and have new ways to think about things.

Then, once my body knew I could hold space (even if it was just a small space) for two things that seem to conflict being true at the same time - my trauma surfaced.

I quickly learned that trauma was stored in my body & mindset work couldn’t change any of it.

I saw some posts on Instagram @sahdsimone today….

And so many healing moments came back to me....

Those moments are now internal resources that remind me, empower me and encourage me to continue healing and offering healing modalities to help others.

As I share some of the words from these post, I invite you to see what comes up in your heart and body.

Do any parts of these feel true to you? And Where do you feel that in your body?

What parts feel untrue or out of reach? And Where do you feel that in your body?

All is valid and real.

Here are the words from @sahdsimone:

Your mind can be brilliant. It can explain everything. But it's your body that decides if you’re still living in the past or finally free.

The body holds the raw manuscript of your life. It doesn't care how eloquent your explanation is. It cares if you can stay present inside sensation long enough for the old story to dissolve.

Thinking can name the wound. But only embodied experience can rewrite it.

Again, the invitation I want to offer is to check in with your mind, your heart, your body….

What comes up for you when you read this?

Can you give yourself space to have two things be true at the same time?

All experiences and feelings are welcome here...

Maybe it’s empowerment and maybe it’s frustration, confusion, determination, or something else.

When I first realized I needed to get into my body and let it be my teacher and lead the way, I was terrified & also knew it was the only way for me to move forward.

Whatever, comes up is what your body wants you to know to continue to heal.

If anything seems too much or hard too hold, I am here. I’d be honored to be a witness of your experience. I’d love to hear anything you are able to share.

Remember, ❤️

If your healing has felt glitchy lately — you’re not doing it wrong. In fact, those “What is happening right now?” moments are often signs that your nervous system is trying to integrate something new. A healing glitch isn’t a setback. It’s your system saying: “Something old is being stirred… and something new is trying to come online.” Photo by Tim Mossholder on Unsplash It can show up as: sudden irritability unexpected tears feeling shut down or numb people-pleasing even when you thought...

Here is a Gentle Way to Check In, Learn, and Nourish Your Body. The days after a holiday can feel… complicated. Sometimes things go beautifully—better than expected. Sometimes the old dynamics show up. Sometimes we show up in ways we didn’t plan. And sometimes it’s a mix of all of it. This is why aftercare matters. Not to judge yourself. Not to analyze every moment. Not to ask, “What’s wrong with me?” or “Why couldn’t I just hold it together?” Instead—aftercare is a compassionate way to help...

You Can Learn to Feel Safe Again. As we step into the holiday season, I want to offer you something: Your body isn’t broken — it’s overwhelmed. Especially if you have trauma. If your body has been living in a constant state of fight, flee, fawn, freeze, or dissociation, then your body has been carrying overwhelm for a very long time. Not because somethings gone wrong… but because your body has learned to stay alert (or shut down) in order to keep you safe. And overwhelmed bodies aren’t bad,...
