What can your embodied experience change?

Before my suppressed & repressed trauma could surface, my brain needed to get out of black and white/all or nothing thinking.

Life coaching gave me this first step.

Mindset worked helped me learn how to reframe, change narratives and have new ways to think about things.

Then, once my body knew I could hold space (even if it was just a small space) for two things that seem to conflict being true at the same time - my trauma surfaced.

I quickly learned that trauma was stored in my body & mindset work couldn’t change any of it.

I saw some posts on Instagram @sahdsimone today….

And so many healing moments came back to me....

Those moments are now internal resources that remind me, empower me and encourage me to continue healing and offering healing modalities to help others.

As I share some of the words from these post, I invite you to see what comes up in your heart and body.

Do any parts of these feel true to you? And Where do you feel that in your body?

What parts feel untrue or out of reach? And Where do you feel that in your body?

All is valid and real.

Here are the words from @sahdsimone:

Your mind can be brilliant. It can explain everything. But it's your body that decides if you’re still living in the past or finally free.

The body holds the raw manuscript of your life. It doesn't care how eloquent your explanation is. It cares if you can stay present inside sensation long enough for the old story to dissolve.

Thinking can name the wound. But only embodied experience can rewrite it.

Again, the invitation I want to offer is to check in with your mind, your heart, your body….

What comes up for you when you read this?

Can you give yourself space to have two things be true at the same time?

All experiences and feelings are welcome here...

Maybe it’s empowerment and maybe it’s frustration, confusion, determination, or something else.

When I first realized I needed to get into my body and let it be my teacher and lead the way, I was terrified & also knew it was the only way for me to move forward.

Whatever, comes up is what your body wants you to know to continue to heal.

If anything seems too much or hard too hold, I am here. I’d be honored to be a witness of your experience. I’d love to hear anything you are able to share.

You can respond to this email or sign up for a free chat with me.

Remember, ❤️

You Matter. Your Healing Matters. You Are Worth It!

When it comes to trauma healing, many people think the goal is to always feel calm. But here’s the truth: healing doesn’t begin with calm—it begins with safety. When the body feels safe enough, it finally has permission to soften, release, and move toward healing. Healing that includes, the grounding, the calm, the intensity, the scary - it includes the range and variety of emotions that being human offers. Safety doesn’t mean nothing hard will come up. It means that when something does rise...

The end of summer can feel like standing between two worlds—lazy days fading behind us and the structure of September routines stretching out ahead. Our nervous system notices this shift. What happens within your system? For many, it stirs up restlessness, overwhelm, or the sense of being pulled in a dozen directions at once. And for others, September feels like a welcome exhale. After months of spontaneity and non-structure, the rhythm of schedules can bring the nervous system relief and...

Healing from trauma can feel like standing at the base of a steep mountain. From down below, the path looks impossible—so far, so high, so exhausting. Maybe you’ve felt that weight: The urge to push through and scramble up as fast as you can, even when your body is pleading for rest. Or the opposite—the collapse and desire to quit before you even begin, because the climb feels too overwhelming to try. And in those moments, two very different voices often show up inside: One says, “Just push...
